About the Temple

Shri Sai Baba of Shirdi was the great spiritual Guru, who taught the lessons of faith and compassion, which he defined as Shraddha and Saburi, and also taught his followers about the equality of all religions. It is said that this great saint lived between 1838 and 1918 and nothing is known about his real name and birth place. He arrived in the village as a young lad and took shelter in the Khandoba Temple, where he was given the name of Sai Baba by the villagers. Baba lived the simple life of a fakir, but he blessed millions with his divine powers. He healed the sick and performed great miracles, which made people realize that there was something divine about this simple looking saint. Sai Baba later lived in a mosque called Dwarka Mai and when he dies, his remains were put to rest in a temple, and this is where the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple was built in 1922.
